Crown
When the damage to the tooth as a result of caries or impact is large, sometimes the filling is not enough. In such cases where the loss of substance in the tooth is high, the coating made with metal-supported or full ceramic (zircon) porcelain that provides the shape, colour and function of the tooth is called a crown. Sometimes it can also be applied for aesthetic purposes only.
Bridge
It is a form of treatment applied by shaping (reducing) the neighbouring teeth to fill the gaps that occur in case of loss of one or more teeth.
Why is a Bridge Needed?
Even a single lost tooth is very important for oral health. We use our teeth constantly while talking, chewing and laughing. Missing teeth can make your face look older and worn out. Each tooth has taken its place in the mouth to complement the other. After early tooth loss, adjacent teeth move or bend towards the gap left by the missing tooth over time. As a result of this movement of neighbouring teeth, closing disorders and gum problems occur. Physiological cleaning is also hindered as natural tooth contacts are disrupted and teeth become prone to decay.
